Bowls and Chopsticks
We, our Vietnamese people, always had unforgettable memories of the Autumn Revolution in 1945 full of greatest happiness, full of flowers and flags, victorious voices and colours. Nonetheless, before the August revolution in 1945, there were miseries and inconsolable grief of more than 2 million innocent people starved to death .
With no flags, no flowers, we commemorate 2 million of “ten kinds of abandoned souls” on the streets on that darky days by bowls and chopsticks painted with red lacquer trimmed with gold and the numbers that reminds of our painful grief engraved in chronicles of our country.
We believe that if our grief is once commemorated, our grief will do its mission of calling human being not repeating the disaster.
Dorm Beds
Our memories of student life is double-storey beds in dorminoty is 1,8mx0,8m in area. Our bright and beautiful time mostly attached with these woody lanky beds in most of boorish and bare dorms. Those are not our missions and values in life.
To us, those double-storey beds are the values in our memory.
2 double-deck beds are painted with red lacquer and are trimmed with gold along with dragon and phoenix patterns are born in our memory about beautiful, but poor of our young age. Our student life was in very reduced circumstances , but splendid time ever.
Into the Sea
“Two individulas are as one falling in line together; By multiple forms of presentation such as films, performances, and others of visual languages, once again, as artists, or as citizens, they are reminding us of comporting ourselves with high respect to our honored ancestors, to our native land, to current burning issues…of our mother country .The two of them who will never be an outsider of these occurrences of their fatherland. All are ready to show the flow goes naturally with contemporary arts in harmony. It does not need to be exaggerative, no need to be complex, or no need to be courteous either. It is as natural as the artist characteristic is.
We would not ignore another silent movement that every artist is involved to. They are trying hardly to dominate their breath-takings upon art horizon, slanders, and long lasting pains of creativeness. Those can be seen in every angle of actions to the whole of Thanh –Hai’s artwork.
All are ready for the departure to “into the sea”.
